Toyota receives Automotive Innovation Fund support

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada is receiving $141 million in interest-free loans and grants from the federal and Ontario governments to implement $545 million in upgrades at its Woodstock and Cambridge facilities. The funding is provided through the Automotive Innovation Fund and will be used to make environmental and production efficiency enhancement to its plants, including switching its Cambridge paint shop from a solvent-borne to a water-borne system. Dubbed Project Green Light, the work is expected to take two years and add up to 500 new jobs on top of the current workforce of 6,500….
