Toronto consulting firm, The Impact Group, announced today that the group is splitting its four constituent companies into independent entities to maximize their respective brands. Co-founders Jeffrey Crelinsten and Ron Freedman will each take the helm at two of the four companies, which will operate independently going forward.

Crelinsten becomes CEO of Research Money Inc. and Research Impacts Inc. (The Impact Group).

Freedman becomes CEO of Research Infosource Inc. and Innovation Atlas Inc.

"We started The Impact Group over 25 years ago and grew it into a successful consulting firm in the science, technology and innovation policy space," says Freedman. "Along the way we acquired Research Money and spun out Research Infosource and Innovation Atlas. Now it's time to build these brands independently to maximize their value. Research Infosource and Innovation Atlas will continue to provide essential data, information and custom research services to the Canadian innovation community."

"Look for more RE$EARCH MONEY events that bring business, finance, government and academia together around issues of importance to Canada," says Crelinsten. "We're also planning to launch an international newsletter to showcase Canada's innovation prowess to the world. There will be lots of exciting partnering opportunities. The Impact Group has recently been focusing on how to strengthen industry-academic collaboration and entrepreneurial culture in Canada's cities and regions."

Working together for almost three decades, Crelinsten and Freedman have seen the Canadian innovation ecosystem evolve dramatically. They both remain committed to serving the community and helping to grow a strong innovation culture in Canada through their refocused efforts.
