Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) has announced $30 million in funding for 13 projects covering a wide array of clean technologies. These include the production of synthetic gas from urban wood waste products, a project to increase the lifespan of car tires and a hybrid drive and energy management system for larger trucks combining diesel engines and electric powertrains. The projects have a 2:1 leverage ratio, bringing $70 million in additional investment. SDTC has now invested $241 million in 109 projects and is on track to allocate all of its $550 million in funding by 2010. Funding levels for each project are subject to final contract execution. Detailed project descriptions are at www.sdtc.ca….
