Satellite communications research program launched

Montreal’s NSI Communication Inc is teaming with three Canadian universities and the Communications Research Centre to develop advanced modulation and coding techniques for satellite-based multimedia communications. The project is receiving a $390,000 collaborative research grant from the Space Communications Research program, a joint venture between the Canadian Space Agency and the Canadian Institute of Telecommunications Research. NSI is contributing $210,000 plus in-kind support and has commercial rights to any resulting intellectual property. NSI is currently working on the development of a next-generation satellite communications terminal that will enable higher bandwidth connections....
