Researchers make muscular dystrophy breakthrough

Researchers at McGill Univ and the Univ of Manitoba have discovered a gene responsible for limb-girdle muscular dystrophy, characterized by muscle weakness in the pelvis and shoulders. The breakthrough is considered critical, as the research findings are broadly applicable to research on all other forms of muscular dystrophy.
