Quebec and California pursue green ICT solutions

Quebec and California supporters of green information and communications technology (ICT) have produced a roadmap supporting the launch of a bilateral green ICT consortium to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on university campuses, companies and government departments. The roadmap was produced by participants at a November 16th workshop in Montreal hosted by Prompt, Quebec's biggest ICT R&D consortium and involving the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology, based at the Univ of California, San Diego. The roadmap will be followed by a business plan, allowing the consortium to pursue long-term funding to sustain consortium activities. The initiative to date is support by the Canada-California Strategic Innovation Partnership....
