MDS boosts cellular analysis with acquisition

MDS Analytical Technologies has acquired Blueshift Technologies Inc, Sunnyvale CA, for $13 million. The acquisition provides the newly created business unit of MDS Inc with greater strength in high content screening and high content analysis. The unit is comprised of the Sciex and Molecular Devices product lines. Blueshift is a developer of screening platforms for life sciences research and makes the IsoCyte benchtop laser scanning cytometer. There are current 14 of these cytometers installed at academic, biotech and pharmaceutical companies throughout North America.....
