Maja Veljkovic

Maja Veljkovic has been appointed DG of the National Research Council's Innovation Centre in Vancouver. Formerly a senior engineer and R&D manager with Syncrude Canada Ltd, she replaces interim DG Edward Capes, who has retired after a long career with the NRC....

The Science Council of British Columbia has appointed four new members. They are: Robert de Wit, chief operating officer, TechBC Corp; Melinda Entwistle, community development manager, BC Hydro; Dr Timothy Walzak, president and CEO, Univ of Victoria's Innovation Development Corp; and, Hiromi Matsui, president, Canadian Coalition of Women in Engineering, Science and Technology. Their appointments run until early 2002 and fill vacancies left by Dr Hilda Chang, Jane Groves, Barry Jinks and Phil Northcott....
