Lockheed Martin has completed $1.4 billion worth of industrial regional benefits (IRB) associated with the federal government’s purchase of 17 CC-130J Super Hercules aircraft dating from 2007. The IRB commitments were completed one year ahead of schedule, completing 76 transactions involving companies and universities that included R&D funding, the development and sale of technology products and services. IRB are typically required from foreign firms to contribute to Canada’s innovation and R&D capabilities.
