Lignol Innovations joins NSERC research network


Lignol Innovations Ltd (LIL) has joined the recently established NSERC Strategic Biomaterials and Chemicals Research Network as an industry network partner. A wholly owned subsidiary of Burnaby BC-based Lignol Energy Corp, LIL is a key Canadian player in the cellulosic and biorefining sector. Last year, LIL struck a funding agreement with the British Columbia Bioenergy Network which provides financial support for the firm's collaborations with provincial universities. LIL has developed a lignin chemistry-based pre-treatment technology that facilitates rapid conversion of cellulose to ethanol and the production of biochemical co-products….
