IBM invests in oil sands research centre

IBM, Armonk NY, is investing US$1.4 million to establish the IBM Oil Sands Centre of Excellence in Calgary. The Centre is seeking oil sands firms and other industry partners to jointly develop business and technology projects addressing construction, project management, process optimization and environmental management challenges. Oil sands development is expected to require $70 billion in investment over the next two years, offering major opportunities to improve financial and operational efficiency.....
