Hélène Dompierre has been appointed DG of the scientific research and experimental development (SR&ED) directorate at Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA). She replaces Norine Hestleton, who completed a three-year term and has returned to the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) where she was on loan under the Interchange Canada program. Dompierre is a career bureaucrat who first joined Revenue Canada (CCRA’s predecessor) in 1976 where she held a series of increasingly senior positions. Since 1997 Dompierre has worked at the appeals branch and in 1999 she was appointed DG of the appeals development and fairness directorate. The SR&ED directorate is located within the compliance programs branch. At ITAC, Hestleton has been appointed VP and will work closely with president Gaylan Duncan on the association’s future. Prior to joining SR&ED as its first DG, she was ITAC’s VP policy….
