Hélène Dompierre has been appointed DG of the scientific research and experimental development (SR&ED) directorate at Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA). She replaces Norine Hestleton, who completed a three-year term and has returned to the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) where she was on loan under the Interchange Canada program. Dompierre is a career bureaucrat who first joined Revenue Canada (CCRA’s predecessor) in 1976 where she held a series of increasingly senior positions. Since 1997 Dompierre has worked at the appeals branch and in 1999 she was appointed DG of the appeals development and fairness directorate. The SR&ED directorate is located within the compliance programs branch. At ITAC, Hestleton has been appointed VP and will work closely with president Gaylan Duncan on the association’s future.
