Genome Canada teams up with Gairdner Awards

Genome Canada (GC) has become a major sponsor of this year’s Gairdner International Awards, and for the first time all nine prizes will be awarded to genome research. GC will contribute $300,000 to the foundation overseeing the awards, leading to a Gairdner Foundation National Genome Program in Toronto on October 23-24. To date, Gairdner has given awards to 255 scientists worldwide, 56 of whom have gone on to win the Nobel Prize. A formal announcement will be made later this month...
