Gairdner Awards receive $2 million from feds

The Canada Gairdner International Awards have received $2 million from the federal government to promote its award winner internationally. The funding will be used to partner with Canadian embassies to honour award winners in their own countries, increasing the international profile of the awards and enhance education outreach activities. The government provided the Gairdner awards with a $20-million endowment for the same purpose in 2008....
