Feedback sought on new RD&I ISO standard

The Standards Council of Canada is asking for feedback on a new international standard related to research, development and innovation. The proposed ISO standard would set requirements for RD&I management systems, as well as providing companies, academia, governments and other research institutes with methods to establish, maintain and improve the consistency and efficiency of their RD&I-related work. The standard would include test methods, sampling criteria, safety requirements, and other guidance on RD&I activities. Having a clear definition of what activities are RD&I would help companies and policy makers better identify what's needed to generate knowledge and apply it in the market, and establish clear criteria for determining which RD&I activities should receive support. The deadline for comments is January 28/13. FMI: www.scc.ca.....
