EU research on aging receives Canadian funding

Canada is contributing $1.5 million towards a $5-million, five-project research initiative launched by the European Research Area on Aging (ERA-AGE), Europe's first joint research program on aging. The Canadian effort is supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research ($1 million) and Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé ($506,000). Canadian researchers will team with counterparts in Finland, Sweden, UK, Luxembourg, France, Norway and Israel. The projects are: Continence across continents to upend stigma and dependency; Ambient assistive living technologies for wellness, engagement and long life, Healthy aging in residential places; Hearing, remembering and living well: paying attention to challenges of older adults in noisy environments; and Understanding the role of contrasting urban contexts in healthy aging: an international study of daily mobility and active living using wearable sensor devices across cohorts....
