Dr Robin Harkness has been appointed VP research of Ontario Genomics (formerly Ontario Genomics Institute, see brief on this page), effective November 23. Harkness has more than 25 years of experience in the life sciences corporate, academic and not-for-profit sectors. Past positions include 20 years at Sanofi Pasteur where he rose to the position of associate VP and most recently executive director of the Canadian Cancer Research Alliance. Harkness's management of large-scale research programs within matrix programs is seen as a key attribute to his work at Ontario Genomics where he will lead research program operations, develop strategies for launching new projects and secure new funding sources. He holds a BSc in biology from Carleton Univ, a PhD in microbiology from the Univ of Victoria and was a post-doctoral fellow at the Univ of Munich….
