Dr Philippe Calais has been appointed president of Neurochem Inc. The announcement fills the second executive vacancy created by the departure of president and CEO Dr Louis Lamontagne last December. The CEO position was filled at that time by Dr Francesco Bellini, who is also the Montreal-based firm’s board chairman. Calais was previously GM of Servier Canada Inc and has held executive positions with Swiss-based Hoffman-La Roche and UK-based ICI Pharmaceuticals. He holds a PhD in pharmacy from the Univ Francois Rabelais. Bellini previously headed BioChem Pharma Inc until its sale to Shire Pharmaceuticals in 2001....
