Dr Paul Chisholm Genest has been appointed president and CEO of the Council of Ontario Universities, effective July 1. Genest comes to the COU from Bell Canada where he is assistant VP public affairs and e-services with responsibility for government liaison on policy issues, R&D, e-health, productivity and taxation. He served under prime minister Jean Chrétien as director of policy and research and was a senior policy advisor to the minister of Health Canada.
