Dr Michel Bergeron has been awarded Genome Quebec's inaugural Biotechnology Award of Tomorrow award. Bergeron is a professor and director of Laval Univ's Infectious Disease Research Centre, of which he is founder. The Centre now has nearly 250 researchers, graduate students and technical staff to study microbial aggressions as they apply to public health problems. He is also founder of Infectio Diagnostic Inc (now D Diagnostic-GeneOhm) which employs 175 people in the Quebec City area.
