Dr Mark Poznansky has been appointed president and CEO of the Ontario Genomics Institute, replacing Dr Christian Burks who is stepping down after six years. Poznansky comes to the OGI with a long and prestigious background as a researcher and research manager and has led a consultancy group for the past two years. Prior to starting his own firm, he was president, CEO and scientific director of the Robarts Research Institute in London ON, which grew significantly during his 15-year tenure and spun off seven companies. Poznansky was also president and CEO of Viron Therapeutics Inc between 2004 and 2006 and founded London Biotechnology Incubator Inc in 2002. During this period, he joined the OGI board and served as its chair from 2008 onward. Prior to joining Robarts, Poznansky was associate dean of medicine at the Univ of Alberta.
