Dr Gilles Patry 2002


Dr Gilles Patry has been appointed to the governing council of the National Research Council for a three-year term. Patry is rector and vice-chancellor of the Univ of Ottawa (U of O) and has been instrumental in transforming the institution into one of Canada’s major research-intensive universities, in particular the creation of the School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE). Prior to joining U of O he was a professor of civil engineering at l‘Ecole Polytechnique and McMaster Univ. Patry holds a BSC and MSc in civil engineering from U of O and a PhD in civil engineering from the Univ of California….
