Dr Denis Faubert has been appointed president and CEO of the Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Quebec (CRIAQ). Faubert was most recently GM of the Hydro-Québec Research Institute (IREQ). Previously he was executive director of R&D Programs at Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) (2005- 2007) and executive director of DRDC Valcartier (1998-2005) where he oversaw research in the areas of optronics, information systems and combat systems. Faubert holds a PhD in laser physics from Laval Univ. He replaces Clément Fortin who held the position from 2010 and left to become a senior advisor to the president of the Skoltech Institute of Science and Technology — a private graduate research university near Moscow established by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology….
