Dr Charlyn Black has been appointed senior advisor for the Canadian Institute of Health Information and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Black is a health policy advisor who will work to help develop complementary research activities between the two organizations, as well as developing research capabilities in research on health, health care and health policy. She will also act as a link to relevant health information organizations such as Statistics Canada. Black will take leave as associate professor in the Univ of Manitoba's department of community health sciences and co-director of the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy and Evaluation.
