Dow Agro acquires privately owned Hyland Seeds

Dow AgroSciences Canada Inc has acquired Hyland Seeds, a division of Thompsons Ltd, Blenheim ON. The acquisition covers Hyland's R&D program, three R&D sites and its corn production facility, in addition to the Hyland brand and sales, marketing and administrative functions. Hyland was founded in 1975 and has the largest privately owned, multi-crop breeding program in Canada, focused on corn hybrids, soybeans, edible beans and cereal grains. DowAgro is a subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Co with global sales of $4.5 billion. Its Canadian division is headquartered in Calgary with operations in Saskatoon (canola) and St Mary's ON (corn)?.
