The Centre for Imaging Technology Commercialization (CIMTEC) has spun out Focal Healthcare, a medical imaging start-up to develop and market MRI-ultrasound fusion and biopsy systems for treating prostate cancer. Focal is based on a unique portfolio of patents held by CIMTEC, which allows for more accurate treatment of prostate cancer, reducing life-threatening side effects.
