CIDA unveils food security research program

The Canadian International Development Agency and the International Development Research Centre have announced a joint, $62-million Canadian International Food Security research fund to support bilateral applied research projects aimed at crop resilience, crop nutritional value and infectious diseases related to crops and animals. The five-year program helps to fulfill the government's commitment to inject $600 million in new funding into sustainable agricultural development, bringing the total to $12 billion.. In addition, CIDA is providing $32.5 million over three years for two Challenge Programs delivered by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research....
