Canada's ranks well on innovation scorecard

Canada ranks 4th in the world as a leading innovation-driven economy, according to a Connectivity Scoreboard released by Nokia Siemens Networks. The ranking, designed by Univ of Calgary business dean Leonard Waverman along with global consulting firm LECG, shows that Canada gets top marks for broadband penetration among consumers but is pulled down by performance in business and government skills and usage. Within government, the exception is Industry canada, which the report says understands the benefits of information and communications technology.
