The University Health Network is the Canadian lead in a consortium to develop new drugs for preventing and treating malaria. The Canada-India collaboration is funded by International Science and Technology Partnerships Canada and and the Indian government's department of biotechnology. The Indian lead is the International Centre for Engineering and Biotechnology. Other partners are the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Therapure Biopharma (Mississauga) and Lifecare Innovations (Gurgaon India).
