ARC and EVI collaborate on fuel cell prototypes

The Alberta Research Council (ARC) and Energy Ventures Inc (EVI), North York ON, have entered into a joint development agreement to create commercial prototypes of EVI's direct methanol fuel cell technology. The technology eliminates the need for expensive and complex hydrogen infrastructure associated with other fuel cell systems. The technology, which was developed in collaboration with the National Research Council (NRC). The agreement will see ARC invest $3 million into the project over three years, as well as provide technical and management resources.
