Alberta invests $10 million in targeted water research

Alberta Innovates — Energy and Environment Solutions has awarded $10 million to 18 research projects supporting safe, secure drinking water, healthy aquatic ecosystems and reliable, quality water supplies in the provinces. The awards — up to $1.5 million in size — were chosen based on their contributions to three areas of research:?water security, risk and vulnerability, watershed stewardship and ecosystem management, and increased conservation, efficiency and productivity of surface and ground water use. Preference was given to projects with a strong provincial connection and led by an Alberta researcher. The funded projects support Alberta's Water for Life strategy....
