Titanium strikes heavy minerals deal with Syncrude

Calgary's Titanium Corporation Inc has reached agreements with Syncrude Canada Ltd to use its technology for recovery of heavy minerals from tailings at Syncrude oil sands sites in Alberta. The agreements specify that Titanium assign Syncrude a 50% stake in a patent — entitled Recovery of Bitumen from Froth Treatment Tailings with Syncrude having exclusive right to exercise the patent at its sites and Titanium at all other oil sands sites. The development-stage company will have first rights to the recovery of heavy minerals from Syncrude sites. The patent is part of Titanium's Creating Value from Waste suite of technologies, which aims to create valuable commodities by preventing bitumen, solvents and minerals from being deposited in tailings ponds and the atmosphere….
