The Summer Edition of CIN is Here

The Summer Edition of Canadian Innovation News (CIN) celebrates 150+ years of Canadian innovation. We look at some of the amazing innovations of our past, from the famous discovery of insulin by Banting and Best, to lesser known discoveries like the electric wheelchair, life jackets, snowshoes, and key frame animation.

We profile some incredible innovators, from Wilfred Buck, who is working with First Nations schools to bring an Indigenous perspective to teaching science, to 19-year-old Ann Makosinski, who invented a flashlight powered by heat expelled from the human hand. We also catch up with organizations tackling complex challenges in areas as diverse as oil sands waste recovery to treatments for mysterious and dangerous viruses, and share some of the exciting new directions for the recently rebranded Ingenium – Canada’s Museums of Science and Innovation.
