Rady family make $30-million gift to Univ of Manitoba

The Univ of Manitoba has received $30 million from the Rady Family Foundation and renamed its faculty of health sciences in honour of its new benefactors, Ernest and Evelyn Rady. The gift will be pooled with other donations in the university's Front and Centre campaign which is nearing the halfway mark of its $500-million goal and includes a $150-million contribution from the Manitoba government. The endowment is expected to generate $1.6 million annually to support research, equipment, capital upgrades and student financial assistance. Winnipeg-born Ernest Rady and Evelyn now live in San Diego and head American Assets Trust, a major real estate and investment firm….
