WD invests $2 million in CLS to attract industry

Western Economic Diversification (WD) is investing $2 million in the Canadian Light Source (CLS) synchrotron to reduce fees of first-time industrial users. The Saskatoon-based CLS will use the First User Program to attract approximately 50 new industrial clients, helping to reach its target of 25% industrial usage by companies in sectors such as environmental science, natural resources and energy, health and life sciences and information and communication technology. The CLS is currently expanding its core facility and adding seven new beamlines, bringing the total to 14 by mid 2008….
