Zenon Environmental nabs $9.9M in TPC funding

Zenon Environmental Inc, Burlington ON, has received $9.9 million in assistance to accelerate development of its filtration-membrane technology for combating waterborne microbial infections and chlorine resistant parasites. The funding from Technology Partnerships Canada (TPC) will used used for a three-year development project to improve the efficiency and performance standards of Zenon's existing, widely used treatment system. A new membrane system is now in development and the TPC funding will take it through the pre-pilot, pilot and pre-demonstration stages. As many as 58 jobs will be created during this period, with the potential for an additional 870 jobs beyond that.
