Zenon Environmental nabs $9.9M in TPC funding

Zenon Environmental Inc, Burlington ON, has received $9.9 million in assistance to accelerate development of its filtration-membrane technology for combating waterborne microbial infections and chlorine resistant parasites. The funding from Technology Partnerships Canada (TPC) will used used for a three-year development project to improve the efficiency and performance standards of Zenon's existing, widely used treatment system. A new membrane system is now in development and the TPC funding will take it through the pre-pilot, pilot and pre-demonstration stages. As many as 58 jobs will be created during this period, with the potential for an additional 870 jobs beyond that. Zenon expects its workforce to grow from the current 400 to 1900 over the next 10 years....
