Xerox Canada R&D Centre awarded 1,000th patent

The Xerox Research Centre of Canada (XRCC) has received a US patent for Fuser and Fixing Members Containing PEI-PDMS Block Copolymers, marking its 1,000th patent. The Mississauga ON-based R&D Centre has gained an international reputation for its prodigious and cost-effective patenting output, which it has achieved with a relatively small staff of 120. One of five Xerox R&D centres globally, XRCC focuses on new imaging and consumable materials for Xerox products, including its emulsion aggregation toner technology based on nanotechnology. The Centre was recently visited by National Science Advisor Dr Arthur Carty to gain insight into best practices that may be adopted by other private sector R&D performers....
