Water innovation receives $12 million from Fed Dev

The Univ of Waterloo-based Southern Ontario Water Consortium (SOWC) has received $12 million to support up to 80 industry-academic water projects. The funding was provided by the Federal Economic Development Agency of Southern Ontario and is expected to benefit approximately 90 companies. SOWC's Advancing Water Technologies program will work with the university's Velocity Science, a business-led program which mentors entrepreneurs in the life and physical sciences to create products, technologies and services for the water sector. The university is also home to The Water Institute, an interdisciplinary hub of research, education, and training focused on the sustainable use and management of water resources....
