Univ of Waterloo opens electromagnetic test facility

The Univ of Waterloo has officially opened an advanced Centre for Intelligent Antenna and Radio Systems (CIARS), a $15-million, 500-sq-m facility for research and testing of electromagnetic devices. Supported by the Canada Foundation for Innovation, Ontario Research Fund, the university and industry partners, the facility supports a wide range of devices from next-generation wireless communications and car radar to THz imaging/ spectroscopy, nano-sensors and smart devices. The facility can be accessed remotely by researchers and has the highest range of frequency possible of any academic institution in the world....
