U of T uses CANARIE to archive holdings

Univ of Toronto Libraries is in the midst of a major digital archiving and preservation initiative using the CANARIE backbone network to send one terabyte of data daily to the Internet Archive. To date, 250,000 U of T books have been digitized with another 250,000 books pending archival. Established in 1996, the Internet Archive allows uploading and downloading of digital material to its data cluster, with unrestricted access at no cost. In addition to U of T's archives, users can access digitized material from Penn State, Univ of California, The British Library and the Boston Library Consortium...
