TPC invests $3 million in airbag sensor technology

Technology Partnerships Canada (TPC) has invested $3 million in a $10-million R&D project by Intelligent Mechatronic Systems Inc (IMS), a Waterloo On-based developer of intelligent sensor and control software technology. The R&D project is focused on software development for smart devices to be used for next-generation automotive airbags. R&D will involve the development of sensor modules for weight and proximity, multi-level airbag deployment, crash severity assessment real time logging.
