Stuart receives another $1.4 million from TPC

Technology Partnerships Canada (TPC) has increased its investment in Stuart Energy Systems Corp, Mississauga, which is developing hydrogen-based back-up systems and storage systems for renewable energy sources. Stuart will receive $1.4 million on top of $5.8 million it received in 1999, increasing the cost of the R&D project from $17.7 million to $21.9 million. The new assistance will allow Stuart to expand potential applications beyond fuel-cell vehicles to back-up power generators and storage systems for energy sources such as wind and solar power. The original TPC investment was made in conjunction with the Technology Early Action Measures portion of the Climate Change Action Fund....
