Skypoint Capital, Venture Coaches merge operations

Two Ottawa-based venture capital firms, Skypoint Capital and Venture Coaches, have merged their operations under the Skypoint Capital name. With US$185 million under management, the combined firm will continue to invest in early stage technology companies in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. Claude Haw, founder and managing partner of Venture, will joint Skypoint’s senior management team as general partner alongside Leo Lax, Andrew Katz, Peter Charbonneau and Louis Desmarais. Also joining Skypoint are Larry Perron as partner and Jaswinder Kaur as senior associate and director of marketing. The merged company will have 17 employees in Ottawa and Montreal.
