SADI invests $7.7 million in Asco Aerospace

The Strategic Aerospace Defence Initiative (SADI) is providing Asco Aerospace Canada Ltd with $7.7 million in support of a $19.2-million project to reduce production times and costs for the manufacture of specialized aircraft components. A subsidiary of ASCO Industries, Zavente Belgium, the Delta BC-based firm will use the funding to enhance the manufacturing process for large, odd-shaped and complex components built from aluminum, titanium and other hard metals. By improving its process, it hopes to participate in the Joint Strike Fighter program in which Canada is a participant. SADI has announced five investments in 2010 totalling $34.2 million....
