Ryerson DMZ strikes advisory council

Ryerson Univ's DMZ start-up incubator now has a 20-member, blue-chip advisory council to tackle problems faced by Canadian entrepreneurs, initially focused on raising their visibility among the general population. Headed by Nadir Mohamed, chairman of ScaleUp Ventures, the council will address challenges such as attracting funding and generating growth to creating international contacts and getting publicity. A survey conducted prior to the council's launch found that more than half of Canadians don't have the confidence to start a new business. Developing fast growing companies is also seen as a problem with only about 5% of firms growing at an annual rate of 20% or more....
