RBC launches two new initiatives with U of T

RBC will establish the RBC Research in Machine Learning research practice and become a founding partner of the Machine Learning Lab, an initiative of the Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) at the Univ of Toronto (R$, October 11 & 27/16). The Research in Machine Learning team will be housed at the Banting Institute at U of T under the leadership of Dr Foteini Agrafioti, co-founder and co-inventor of Nymi, the first biometric wearable device. The team will collaborate with academics and publish new research in machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). RBC's partnership with the CDL will focus on seed-stage investment for massively scalable, science-based companies mentored by entrepreneurs and angel investors. CDL is home to a world-leading 50 AI companies.
