Quebec & China establish wireless research links

Prompt Inc has teamed with the Shanghai Research Centre for Wireless Communications (WICO) to establish a Remote Research Collaboration Facility (RRCF). The virtual lab links facilities in China and Quebec to permit researchers in either country to access the other nation's microelectronics and telecommunications equipment. The RRCF is also aimed at companies that wish to demonstrate new technologies to potential clients on the other side of the planet. The first intercontinental experiment was conducted between WICO and École technologie supérieure. The facility is financially supported by International Science and Technology Partnerships Canada, Montreal-based Wavesat, the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technologies, the Science and Technology Commission of the Shanghai Municipality and Quebec's Ministry of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade….
