Personalized health competition results announced

Genome Canada and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) have announced the results of a joint competition in personalized health with $71 million in funding for 17 projects ranging in size from $3 million to $13 million. Genome Canada contributed $45 million to the Large-Scale Applied Research Project Competition, augmented by $24 million from CIHR and $2 million from the Cancer Stem Cell Consortium. A further $79 million will be provided by a range of provincial governments, health charities and companies, for a total of $150 million. The competition was held to exploit Canadian research expertise in the biomedical field and move the results into clinical settings....
