Paul Davidson has been named president of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC), succeeding Claire Morris effective May 11th once she completes her five-year term. Davidson comes to the AUCC from the World University Service Canada where he is executive director. While at WUSC, the organization doubled its revenues and the size of the organization's student refugee program, as well as doubling the number of international students studying at Canadian universities through WUSC. Prior to joining WUSC in 2002, Davidson held a number of senior positions in the publishing industry, served as a consultant and legislative advisor to the Ontario leader of the opposition. He holds a BA in politics and history from Trent Univ and an MA in history from Queen's Univ….

The AUCC has appointed André Dulude as VP national affairs in its Ottawa office, effective January 5th. He replaces Robert Best who is retiring after 19 years with the university lobby association. Dulude has held a number of senior positions in the federal public service, most recently serving as assistant DM policy, partnerships and corporate affairs at Human Resources and Skills Development Canada. He holds a BA and MA in labour relations from the Univ of Montreal and a BA in journalism from Laval Univ….
