Ontario's MRI to foot bill for interest on MaRS loan

The Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation (MRI) is on the hook to cover between $5.4 million and $7.1 million in interest payments to pay for a massive loan on the near-empty second tower of the MaRS Discovery District. MaRS turned to the government to bail out the tower, resulting in a $224-million government loan. The loan remains in effect until the Ontario concludes a $309-million purchase of the tower....
